| VIEW PORT |
VIEW PORT LAYOUT |
|
| As an introduction to 3D modeling with 3D studio you will see that it s common to display 3D models with 4 different view ports TOP, FRONT, LEFT and PERSPECTIVE.
Perspective is a 3D viewport that is used to view the 3D result, but when you get used to it it is easier to handle your 3D objects from 2D viewports like Front, Back, Top, Bottom, Left and Right. Notice! That 3D Studio Max uses a little different 3D coordinate system where the X-Axis is left, Z-Axis is up, Y-Axis is depth into the screen.. |

THE BASIC ELEMENTS |
|
| In this tutorial I will explain the basic elements of a virtual 3D model. You will learn what vertex, edge, face, triangle, polygon, object and mesh means in 3D. |

|

| TRANSFORM |
TRANSFORM |
|
| To handle transformations in 3D, we must first learn to use the 3 basic methods TRANSLATE, ROTATE and SCALE.
All advanced 3D editors have these 3 basic transformation methods. |

EDIT MESH |
|
| In this tutorial you will practise the use of EDIT MESH.
You will learn how to create a cup form a sylinder with the use of edit mesh. |

EXTRUDE |
|
| In this tutorial you will practise a very usefull method that is used to add more vertices/polygons to a 3D mesh. This method is called EXTRUDE. |
